2. Choose a Linux Distribution

  • Ubuntu (Beginner-friendly, widely used)

  1. Download Balena Etcher from https://www.balena.io/etcher.
  2. Open the software and select the Linux ISO file.

4. Boot from USB Drive
  1. Insert the bootable USB into the target computer.

5. Install Linux

  • Click Install Linux to proceed.
c) Keyboard Layout
  • Select the appropriate keyboard layout and click Continue.
d) Update and Software Options

    Minimal Installation (Basic utilities with fewer applications)
  • Check Download updates while installing Linux for the latest security updates.
e) Choose Installation Type
  • Select one of the following options:

  • Click Install Now and confirm changes when prompted.
f) Select Time Zone

6. Complete Installation
  1. The installation process will begin, which may take 15-30 minutes depending on system speed.

  3. Click Restart Now and remove the USB drive when prompted.

7. First Boot and System Setup
  • After restarting, log in using the credentials you created.
